When was it built?
Construction first started in July 2011 and the first phase opened in Fall of 2014, the second phase opened in 2017, and the hotel portion opened in 2018
Where is it located?
About 30 miles north of downtown Atlanta in Alpharetta at 400 Avalon Boulevard
Who built it?
North American Properties, led by Mark Toro. They have a talent for creating great retail experiences. They are responsible for the redevelopment of Atlantic Station and Colony Square in Midtown Atlanta
How Big is it?
The 2.3 million SF complex contains over 500,000 SF of retail and high-end dining, 750,000 SF of class A office, 800 single-family residential and multifamily units, 330 room luxury hotel, and a 12-screen theatre all on 86 acres
What’s Unique about this Place?
It is among the first and most expansive large-scale, walkable, mixed-use developments (containing residential, retail, and office all in one location) of its kind in a suburban location. Prior to Avalon, the location was considered for a more traditional large-scale single use shopping center
Why Should I Care?
A person can live at the Avalon in any of their top-of the line apartments, work at the Avalon, shop and experience nice dining at places such as The Apple Store, Café Intermezzo, Jeni’s Ice Cream, West Elm, Superica, and Antico Pizza, enjoy a good movie, and enjoy the events and festivities in the central lawn all without needing a car

 High Museum of Art
When was it built?
The museum’s first incarnation was as the Atlanta Art Association, founded in 1905, which obtained its first permanent home in 1926, which was a donation by Mrs. Joseph M. High of her family’s residence on Peachtree Street. The current, Richard Meier, designed building was built in 1983 after Coca-Cola CEO Robert W. Woodruff offered large grant   
Where is it located?
In Midtown at 1280 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA 30309
Who built it?
The building was designed by Pritzker-prize winning architect, Richard Meier, who is famous for designing such landmarks as The Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Jubilee Church in Rome, and several visionary concepts in NYC and throughout the world. Italian architect, Renzo Piano, designed a 3-building expansion that opened in 2005
How Big is it?
312,000 SF
What’s Unique about this Place?
You can see art representing many cultures from all over the world including Europe, America, Asia, and Africa and different types of art including folk art, photography, landscape paintings, and abstract art 
Why Should I Care?
The High includes exhibits and art pieces from some of the most famous artists in history including Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, and Rembrandt
