Why should I care?
The project includes state of the art technology including 1,000 smart glass windows, a duel-car computer operated elevator system, a collaboration core that will act as a common area and lobby for each floor, and the world’s tallest spiral staircase. There are also expected to be 25,000 SF of street level restaurants, called The Collective, including Wildleaf and El Burro Pollo Burritos as well as the London born, Costa Coffee. There’s a massive television screen on the side of the building opposite The Collective intended to broadcast events

WRS Inc., an investor and developer of retail properties, purchased Underground Atlanta from the City of Atlanta for $35 million in 2017
Why should I care?
Underground Atlanta has had multiple rebirths, first as an entertainment district in the 1970s that included restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and music venues, a retail district in 1987 led by The Rouse Company that costed over $140 million, and now is being redeveloped by WRS Inc. into a mixed-use entertainment district that will include a Yotel, a 130-unit, $38 million affordable housing high-rise, and office space
