When was it completed?
1987
Where is it located?
In Midtown Atlanta at 1201 W Peachtree Street NW
Who built it?
Prentiss Properties was the developer, Philip Johnson and John Burgee were the architects, and The Beck Group was the general contractor
How Big is it?
At 50 stories and 1,098,705 SF, it is the 3rd tallest building in Atlanta
What is significant about it?
The tower was the tallest building in Atlanta until the Bank of America Building was built in 1992. When it was built it was almost fully occupied with IBM’s southeastern headquarters, which sparked significant development in the Midtown area, essentially creating the Midtown commercial district
Who owns it?
Core Property Capital, a commercial real estate asset manager with over 6.6 million SF in their portfolio
Why should I care?
The 820 Ft tall tower set a new standard for postmodern architecture in Atlanta
